Saachi on-line

My pal Josepha van den Anker has generated great interest in her work by posting it on the Saachi site. (this is a picture of her at the St. Thomas Elgin Art Centre with her self portrait series which was chosen to be part of group showing entitled Identity Transfer).

So, ever the flatterer, I've decided what's good for the JoJo is good for the Grindley!

And so, I (meaning Neil) have created a collection on the Saachi website. Mostly landscapes, crofts and pastures - we'll see.

This is a good way to get moving, creating work and finishing those pieices I keep fine-tuning (enough already!)

New works in preparation for summer show at Southern Accent

In spite of all the snow we've had dumped on us and the ferocity of our storms, this winter has been a very productive time for me (in between enjoying our first winter with a car, scraping, scraping, scraping ...)

I continue to experiment with different techniques and ways to manipulate the paint.

I even learned a new trick from a up and coming painter named Kieren.

In June I'll be showing at Southern Accent during Frances and Tess's Blue Moon Weekend of brunch, art and music. This is a fab, once a year event and a great excuse to linger on a patio over something cool.

My work will be on display Saturday, June 11th and Sunday June 12th and I'll have more information in a month or so.

Brunch, Music and Art - this is a once-in-a-blue-moon happening. Brunch is from 11am to 3pm, and the music starts at 12 noon. My work will be on display both days from 11am to 3 pm.

My show at Southern Accent

My show at Southern Accent Restaurant in Toronto was equal parts art and friends.

Snaps to Frances for having the foresight (and energy) to present her Once in a Blue Moon brunch which made the weekend hugely festive and yummy.

Apart from wonderful food (beignets and andouille sausage, po' boy sandwiches and potato salad, mmmmmMimosas ...) and fantastic music, there were lots of friends just chillin' N'awlins style.

We spent Saturday evening on the patio, after the day of brunch-fun, getting psychic readings, drinking bourbon sours and hanging with friends.

I think we should do this every year!

What do you think Frannie?
